The Nightmare After Christmas Returns!
Reading-based rock band The Flying Pigs will host their third annual benefit concert, Christmachannukkalypse, at the Ephrata Performing Arts Center on Saturday, January 3rd, 2009. Tickets are $10, and are available for online purchase at www.ephrataperformingartscenter.com. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The Flying Pigs have been playing the Reading area for the past two years and are quickly gathering a loyal following. Bassist and frontman Samuel B. Lupowitz, guitarists Mark Hennessey and Ben Tier, and drummer/percussionist J.P. Feenstra have brought back that classic rock sound with just a pinch of modern edge to keep things fresh. Their always exciting live show is a key part of their appeal, while the fun and banter between all four members makes each concert a unique experience.
Joining The Flying Pigs again this year is Pottstown singer-songwriter Hillary Wallace, a regular performer at the Steel City Cafe and the recent winner of their Open Mic night. Her raw blend of emotionally-honest lyrics combined with her stunning voice makes Hillary one of those acts you simply must see. Hillary's music can be found online at www.myspace.com/hillaryewallace
Doors open at 6:30pm, show begins at 7:00pm. Tickets will be available at the door, but it is recommended you purchase early online to guarantee a seat.
The Ephrata Performing Arts Center is on 320 Cocalico St, Ephrata, PA 17522. For ticket information and directions, please call (717) 733-7966 or visit www.ephrataperformingartscenter.com
